DAY 1: SAIGON - CAI BE - TRA ON
Boarding at Cai Be at noon. Welcome drink, Introduction to the ship and crew, check into the cabins. Departure towards Cho Lach on the Tien Giang river. Lunch while on route. Rest on the deck. Branching into Cho Lach canal for 30 minutes through the traffic of sand and rice barges, in a scenery of fruit drying facilities and wooden ship building yards. Visit of a village on the banks of river Mang Thit, an opportunity to appreciate the way of life and hospitality of the local inhabitants. Visit of the orchard or rice fields nearby. Boarding back, complimentary drink as a welcome back on board. Open bar and rest on the deck enjoying the sunset. The crew will serve dinner while the Bassac is cruising Mang Thit river. The Bassac sets anchor just downstream from the little Tra On floating market, for the night.
DAY 2: TRA ON - LONG XUYEN
Breakfast is available from 06:30, while the ship is cruising the Tra On floating market. The ship then departs towards Can Tho. Arrival in Cai Rang floating market, transfer onto a local boat to visit the floating market, the nearby arroyos and gardens and return to the Ninh Kieu pier. Arrival at Ninh Kieu, Can Tho, late morning. Boarding back, welcome drink and departure towards upstream river Bassac. Lunch is served on board while en route. Upon arrival at Thot Not, transfer on the longboat for a visit of a bamboo-knitting village near the Thot Not bird park, at the time the egrets return home from a day out. Boarding back before dusk, a welcome drink and the dinner are served on board while en route. Rest on the deck before the night. The Bassac drops anchor upstream of Long Xuyen for the night.
DAY 3: LONG XUYEN - CHAU DOC
Breakfast is served from 6:30 AM, as the Bassac is on its way upstream the river towards Chau Doc. Visit of a floating fish farm on the way. Upon arrival in Chau Doc, transfer onto a local boat for the visit of a village of the Muslim Cham minority. Boarding back at noon. Welcome drink. Departure upstream the Hau river. Lunch on board while en route. The ship then follows the Tan Chau canal towards the First River. By mid-afternoon, the Bassac stops at the Vietnamese, then at the Cambodian border office at Kaom Somnor for the immigration procedure into Cambodia. Boarding back by late afternoon. We are now in Cambodia. Dinner is served en route on the Mekong, headin towards Phnom Penh. The Bassac drops anchor for the night on the way.
DAY 4: CHAU DOC - PHNOM PENH
The Bassac sets sail at 6:30 towards Phnom Penh. Breakfast is then available, while enjoying the scenery of the banks. Arrival at Phnom Penh early in the morning. The ship runs along the royal palace, then enters the Tonle Sap to reach the port. Check out and transfer to a local boat for the final disembarkment in Phnom Penh early in the morning.
