VNBusinessNews.com - National carrier Vietnam Airlines on Thursday said that it would open two new air routes from the capital of Hanoi to central provinces at the end of this month.
The first route, expected to open Saturday, will include three flights a week from Hanoi to Phu Yen Province’s Tuy Hoa town, a one hour and 40 minute journey.
Another route from Hanoi to the central highlands province of Pleiku will run four times a week after serving its inaugural flight next Tuesday.
The direct Pleiku route, which takes one and half hours, will replace the current Hanoi-Da Nang-Pleiku route, which takes 35 minutes longer.
Both routes will use 79-seat Fokker 70 planes.
Also on Thursday, Vietnam Airlines announced it would increase the number of flights from Hanoi to Ho Chi Minh City and from Ho Chi Minh City to Da Nang by 20 percent each.
