The 76 inscriptions were decided by the 24 member states of the UNESCO’s Intergovernmental Committee for the Safeguarding of the Intangible Heritage, holding its 4th session in the United Arab Emirates from September 28 to October 2 in the presence of nearly 400 delegates from all over the world.
The committee inscribed Vietnam’s Ca Tru on the List of Intangible Heritage in Need of Urgent Safeguarding on October 1.
Vietnam’s Nha Nhac Cung Dinh Hue (Hue Royal Court Music) and the Space of Gong Culture in the Central Highlands region were previously recognised by the committee as the masterpiece of oral and intangible heritage of humanity.
