VietNamNet Bridge – Businesswoman Marie Carine Davision from Ivory Coast beat 75 contestants to win the Best in Ao Dai title of the Mrs. World 2010 pageant in Vung Tau city, Vietnam on November 16.
She also received $1000 bonus and five free days at the five-star Imperial Hotel.
The jury also chose others for the top five contestants in ao dai, including Mrs. USA Andrea Robertson, Mrs. France Emmanuelle Schaack – Klein, Mrs. Philippines Daisy Garcia Reyes and Mrs. South Africa Joani Johnson. The bonus for each is $300 and three free days at the Imperial Hotel.
The Mrs. World Ao Dai competition took place in the evening of November 16, at the garden of the Imperial Hotel. It was broadcast live on VTV1 and VTV9 channels of the national Vietnam Television station (VTV).
The two hour show focused on contestants’ performance in Vietnamese traditional ao dais, designed by Ngo Nhat Huy. The collection of ao daisfor Mrs. World ladies is named “The colour of spring”. Contestants were divided into small groups to model ao dais complete with accessories of lanterns, paper fans, lotus and palm-leaf conical hats.
A group of contestants from the Philippines, Uganda, Estonia, Vietnam, Poland, the Netherlands, South Korea and Georgia sang a Vietnamese folk song as a gift to the audience. |
