In the province there are two resorts, i.e Ba Om Pond Resort (with an area of 84 hectares and location in Ward 8, Tra Vinh Town) and Ba Dong Ecological Resort (with an area of 368 hectares and location in Truong Long Hoa commune, Duyen Hai district), being under infrastructure construction for appealing investment.
Historically, the vestige “Uncle Ho’s Temple” in Long Duc commune, Tra Vinh town is one with a significant meaning and the pride of the Party Committee and the people in Tra Vinh province.
Its system of ancient pagodas possesses 141 pagodas of the Khmer with large campus and several ancient trees. They are also the home of flocks of birds and storks.
In addition, there are 90 other ones of the Kinh and 5 of the Chinese such as Phuoc Minh Cung pagoda, Luong Xuyen pagoda and Ang pagoda in Tra Vinh town; Cave pagoda and Quy Nong pagoda in Chau Thanh district; Van Nien Phong Palace pagoda in Cau Ke district; Giong Lon pagoda in Tra Cu pagoda; Giac Linh pagoda in Cau Ngang district. These pagodas attract tens of thousands of visitors inside and outside the province on occasions of annual festivals.
Festival taking place yearly include: Chol Chnam Thmay festival (in the middle of solar April), Sene Dolta festival (on the 15th day of the lunar month), Ok-Om-Bok festival (on the 15th day of the 10th lunar month), the Khmer’s Ngo Boat Race and Lantern Release, Nghinh Ong Nam Hai festival (worshipping the sea) from the 10th to 12th of the 5th lunar month in My Long commune – Cau Ngang district, Yu-Lan Hui (worshipping Mister Bon) from 25th to 28th of the 7th month of the lunar calendar in Van Nien Phong Palace pagoda and other ones in Cau Ke district. Tourist products include: Vinh Kim dried shrimp, Ba Dong dam-worm sauce, Banh canh Ben Co (Rice spaghetti cooked with shrimp, crab or meat of Ben Co restaurant), Xuan Thanh wine, Banh tet Tra Cuon (Cylindric glutinous rice cake filled with green bean paste and fat pork), com det (green flat rice flakes), Bun nuoc leo (Rice noodle used with soup), Chu u rang me (distinct small crab fried with tamarind juice), and so on.
In addition, the vocational villages make fine-art handicrafts from local materials such as bamboo, ivory bamboo, coconut tree and water hyacinth, wood-spliced picture, graphic slump, drawing on Buong leaf and Thot not leaf, etc…
In future, the Coal Thremo-electricity Center with a capacity of 4,400 MW will be constructed in Duyen Hai district; Quan Chanh Bo Cannel will connect Can Tho International Port with the East Sea (crossing Duyen Hai district and Tra Cu district in Tra Vinh province); Dinh An transit port, Dinh An open economic zone and National Highway 60 will connect Ben Tre province with Tra Vinh province and Soc Trang province.
They are all vantageous conditions for the development of the provincial tourism in particular and the provincial economy in general.
