(CPV)– A Japanese film festival is taking place in November in Hai Phong, Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City.

Six Japanese movies produced from 2000 to 2007 are being shown at the 53 Hoang Van Thu street in Hai Phong City from November 7th to 11th; and will be shown in Hanoi from November 14th – 18th at the National Film Show Center at 87 Lang Ha street, and in Ho Chi Minh City from November 25th to 29th at the Thang Long Film Show Center at 19 Cao Thang street, Precinct 2, District 3, Ho Chi Minh City.

The contents are various in time and characters. There was a samurai in Edo time pretended to be a bad Master in a small feud to stroke against the evil dominating the land for long time. In addition, there is also a torn love story in The Second World War that moves the audience.
People can also enjoy a picture of Tokyo with the life in a poor labor area when the war is over. Outstanding the most is the fate with two strong women, one strikes for love with struggles in life and one strikes for belief after being betrayed.

Each character in each movie is lively and reflects partly history, society and values of Japan. The Japanese movies shown in this Film Festival are hoped to bring Vietnamese audience close to Japanese culture and Japanese people.

The festival is part of the cultural activities of the Japan-Mekong Exchange Year 2009 to help Vietnamese audiences understand more about Japanese culture and society and promote exchanges between Japan and Vietnam.
