Geography

Haiphong is a large city with an important seaport of Vietnam. Haiphong is near Quang Ninh Province to the north, Hai Duong Province to the west, and Thai Binh Province to the south.

Climate: Because of the proximity to the East Sea, Haiphong's weather is affected by inter-tropical monsoons. The annual average temperature varies between 230C and 240C.

Tourism

Haiphong has many temples, pagodas, mausoleums and shrines such as ancient Du Hang Pagoda, Nghe Temple, Hang Kenh Communal House... Haiphong has famous historical Bach Dang River, where the national heroes defeated three Chinese feudal invasions. The third victory over the Yuan-Mongolians was known all over the world. Many of the teakwood pointed spikes have been discovered in this river. Haiphong is on tourism route: Hanoi - Haiphong - Halong Bay. Do Son Beach, located 20km from Haiphong, is a sand strip for bathing. However, during the monsoon season, the Red River's alluvial sands cause the water to turn yellow. From Do Son, tourist can visit Cat Ba National Park, and continue to Bai Tu Long Bay and Halong Bay (Quang Ninh Province). Haiphong is also famous for many festivals, of which Choi Trau Festival (Do Son Buffalo-fighting festival) in Do Son is unique.

Transportation

Haiphong is served by an important transportation network of sea routes, roads, railways, and airlines.

Road: The National Highway No. 10 links Haiphong to the provinces of Quang Ninh, Thai Binh and Thanh Hoa. Haiphong is 102km from Hanoi.

Airlines: There are connecting daily flights with Ho Chi Minh City, departed from Cat Bi Airport.

Railway: There are trains from Hanoi to Haiphong and vice versa.

Boat: Daily ferries from the dock on Ben Binh St. for other destinations.The ferry runs from Haiphong to Cat Ba Island several times a day. The hydrofoil boats run between Haiphong - Cat Ba and Haiphong - Hon Gai. The high-speed air-condition Thong Nhat Boat leave daily from Haiphong to Cat Ba.

Detailed tour itinerary

Day 1: Hanoi - Arrival (D)

Our team would pick you up at arrival gate of Noi Bai International Airport, transferring to reserved hotel in town and supporting check – in procedures. After that we would take cyclo excursion along Old Quarter, Hoan Kiem Lake and Ngoc Son Temple before enjoying water puppet show at Thang Long Theatre. Leaving the performance we would come for welcome diner at nice restaurant. Stay overnight in Ha Noi.

Day 2: Hanoi - Halong - Haiphong (B, L, D)

After having breakfast at the hotel we would spend morning time visiting some of most renowned tourist attraction in Ha Noi such as Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum, Ho Chi Minh Residence on silts and One Pillar Pagoda. Afterwards, we would drive 180 kilometers to the east then boarding on cruising to explore Ha Long Bay. For hours of exploration, we would continue heading out to Hai Phong for dinner and accommodation there.

Day 3: Hai Phong - Hanoi - Danang (B, L)

Taking breakfast at the hotel, we would come to visit Garden Theatre, Du Hang Pagoda and Kenh Temple then driving back to have lunch in Ha Noi. In the afternoon, we would stroll around the Temple of Literature, Quan Thanh Temple and Fine Art Museum before taking short afternoon flight to Da Nang. Upon arrival, we would be accompanied to the hotel and having dinner there.

Day 4: Danang - Hoi An (B, L)

We would take a drive from Da Nang to visit Cham Museum, sensational Marble Mountains and China Beaches and reaching Hoi An ancient town. After having lunch in town, we would set off walking tour to Phuc Kien Hall, Japanese Covered Bridge, Tan Ky House and some workshop of traditional occupation. Then we would have dinner at nice restaurant and backing to the hotel for accommodation.

Day 5: Hoi An - Danang - Hue (B, L, D)

Finishing breakfast at the hotel, we would drive over Hai Van Pass, fruit orchards and coastal lines to the royal city of Hue. Once arriving, we would take the time to visit Tu Duc Tomb before enjoying local gastronomy at the restaurant. In the afternoon, we would join in boating trip along Perfume River, landing on Thien Mu River, Imperial Citadel and Dong Ba Market. Backing to the hotel for dinner and accommodation.

Day 6: Hue - Ho Chi Minh City (B)

In the morning we would take a flight to Ho Chi Minh City then being transferring to the luxurious hotel in the downtown. Having lunch at restaurant we would come to visit China Town, Thien Hau Pagoda, History Museum, former Presidential Palace, Notre Dame Church and Central Post Office. Returning to the hotel for dinner and relaxation.

Day 7: Ho Chi Minh - Departure (B)

Having breakfast at the hotel, then we would have free time to relaxation or final shopping before getting on transferring van to Tan Son Nhat International Airport.
