Ha Giang, 300 km away from Hanoi, located at the highest latitude in Vietnam. It is surrounded by Cao Bang travel , Tuyen Quang, Lao Cai travel , and Yen Bai. It shares a border with China in the north. Many ethnic minorities, including the Dao, H'mong, Tay, and Nung, live in Ha Giang province.

The climate is divided in two distinct seasons (rainy and dry), although it tends to vary depending on altitude.Ha Giang is the ideal location to organize activities such as hiking and camping. Famous sites include Quang Ngan Waterfall and Than Thuy-Thien Bao National Frontier Pass.

Dong Van Highland is situated 1,025 m above sea level and is inhabited by the Tay and H'sMong ethnic groups. The temperature is approximately 1oC in winter and reaches 24oC on the hottest days. The plateau provides famous products such as Hau plums, peaches, and persimmons without seeds. Dong Van apples are as big as pears. In Dong Van, numerous valuable plants used for their medicinal value are found, including ginseng, anise, and cinnamon.

Dong Van has a lot to offer: mountains, forests, hidden grottoes and caves, multicoloured orchid forests, plum and peach trees, persimmon orchards, and more.

Visiting Dong Van, one can see Pho Bang, also called Pho Bang Street, which was built a long time ago and features multi-storey houses made of clay bricks and tile roofs.Visiting Dong Van on Sundays, one can shop in a very original mountain market where all kinds of goods and multicoloured clothes can be purchased.

Khau Vai love market, this happens once a year, often falls in May, where the colorful people gather for their old loves and new ones, and is the place where the tribes sell their local products like food, vegetable, local textiles.....

Located at the highest latitude in Vietnam, Ha Giang is surrounded by Cao Bang tours on the east, Tuyen Quang on the south, Lao Cai, and Yen Bai on the west. It shares a border with China in the north (274km boundary).

Ha Giang's complicated topography is divided into 3 areas. The area on the south has rocky mountain, separated rivers. The west area has sloping mountain side, high pass, valleys, and narrow springs. The low land area includes hills, valley of Lo River, and Ha Giang Town.

Detailed tour itinerary

Day 1: Hanoi - Ha Giang (300km) (,L,D)

Leave Hanoi to HaGiang with stopover through Thai Nguyen city, a break for the museum of Ethnology, then head up North to Tuyen Quang province, visit the historic Tan Trao area then head up our ways to Ha Giang. Arrive in Ha Giang about 5.00 p.m. Dinner and sleep in town.)

Day 2: Ha Giang - Quan Ba(50km) (B,L,D)

Depart From Ha Giang to Quang Ba for enjoying the wonderful sightseeing of this vast limestone mountain range and perpendicular walls of rock, which brings one a feeling of adventure whilst being lost in a magic land, passing the Heaven Gate, meeting some minority people along the way, then onto Quan Ba town for our lunch. Afternoon, we spend time for some drive and walk to some ethnic villages near Quan Ba town, back to Quan Ba for dinner and overnight in town

Day 3: Quan Ba - Yen Minh - Meo Vac (100km) (B,L,D)

we will be hitting the Heaven – a more beautiful place, here we are surrounded by many rocks of all shapes and sizes, chances to see and even visit the traditional houses of the hill tribes here. After lunch at Yen Minh town, the scenic route climbs over a pass, and then we descend down to Meo Vac valley, a beautiful valley situated very close to Chinese border. Day 4: Meo Vac - Dong Van (50km) (B,L,D)

After breakfast, we take time to climb over the Ma Pi Leng Pass where we can see and enjoy a beautiful mountain ranges and the the Nho Que river – just amazing place to be!. We keep hitting the zigzag roads to Dong Van, visiting these remote areas, we will witness how hard the local people struggle with their environment for their survival and development. In the town we stay, we will get the chance to visit the ancient streets with old houses of the H’mong made of clay bricks and tile roofs, which was built in centuries ago. Dinner and sleep in town

Day 5: Dong Van - Yen Minh - Quan Ba (100 km) (B,L,D)

Depart from Dong Van to Quan Ba this day will make your itinerary a good pace, not in a rush. Today we will visit the infamous Vuong Palace, a H'mong family of high rank during French colonial rule - this palace attracts keen interest from architecturally minded visitors due to it mixed style of European and Chinese architecture. We then hit the road back to Quan Ba for overnight. Note: Quan Ba Sunday market is worth an arrangement!

Day 6: Quan Ba - Ha Giang - Hoang Sun Phi (120km) (B,L,D)

Today we will go back to Ha Giang then depart for Bac Quang, the drive is just lovely and you will need to expect lots of meandering turns on our way to Hoang Sun Phi, stop at your own interest for meeting with the local people, landscape, and for photos. We will be in town of Hoang Sun Phi at about 4 p.m. Dinner and overnight in town.

Day 7: Bac Ha - your free day (160km) (B,L,D)

A longer drive on this day via Xin Man on the tortuous roads but with picturesque landscape of the Vietnam countryside and mountains, a meeting and talking to the local ethnic families will make a very impressive experience for us. The second half of this drive is easier but you have to be careful not to lose yourself in the dense woods. Arrive in town of Bac Ha (Lao Cai) about 5 p.m, dinner and sleep in town.

Day 8: Bac Ha - Sapa (B,L,D)

The morning will provide free time for you to explore Bac Ha, this is a small town built on a desolated highland plain NorthWest of Lao Cai, is well-known for the century-old colorful market of the real mountainous people including the Dzao and the Flower-H’Mong. Trekking 3 hours to Pho villages 14 h00 Leave Bac ha to Sapa , arrive at 17h00 , Check in hotel . Free time for discovery Sapa . All meals served in town and sleep in the same hotel.

Day 9: Sapa trekking & homestay (B,L,D)

Car / Van ride along the rugged but spectacular road down hills from Sapa, we are dropped at the village of the Zay people – our trekking base, from here we will be trekking & hiking along the paddy fields, villages crossing streams, you will be introduced to a different way of life as we enjoy the genuine hospitality of these hill tribe people, we end our trek today at a Tay village called Ban Ho, where we will stay with on of the family here - a truly satisfying day filled with insight and the unspoilt beauty of nature. Day 10: More trek and Car / Van back to Sapa, night train to Hanoi (B,L)

After breakfast , do a short trek this morning before the Car / Van brings us back into town of Sapa. Your full afternoon free in town for relaxing, shopping...Our driver will then say goodbye to you after bringing you to the train station of Lao Cai, we depart at 8.50 p.m on a AC soft sleeper class to Hanoi – a sound & safe train journey will be arriving to Hanoi at 5.00 a.m. Tour ends at Hanoi station
