Although 2009 sees decreasing number of foreign tourists to Vietnam’s Central Coastal Danang City, the number of local tourist increases by 15 percent. In 2009, the local tourism sector meets difficulties due to the global economic slowdown and the spread of A/H1N1 flu. In the circumstance, Danang carries out measures to attract tourists and promotion campaigns to stimulus travel demand and the number of local tourists to the city increased considerably.

Moreover, Danang has recently combined tourism and culture to create features for tourism activities.

The total number of tourists to Danang is expected to reach more than 1.35 million in 2009, including an increase of 15 percent in number of local tourists.

In 2010, the Danang Culture, Sports and Tourism Department strive to greet 1.45 million tourists, earning a turnover of VND1.01 trillion
