Da Lat city in the Central Highlands province of Lam Dong will host a flower festival from Jan. 1-4 next year as part of activities to celebrate the 1,000th anniversary of Thang Long-Hanoi. Festival activities will include a flower market and an international flower and ornamental plants exhibition.

Apart from programmes featuring flowers of Da Lat, there will be cultural and sports activities, such as an international trade fair and a Da Lat golf open tournament, Huynh Phong Tranh, the provincial Party Secretary said at a press briefing in Hanoi on Nov. 5.

The festival will kick off at 20.00 on Jan. 2 and will be broadcast live on Vietnam Television.
