New rice feast, photo exhibition on terraces; highland fair – food, dance praise, love singing … of Mongolia will be introduced in the week sports and cultural tourism in Yen Bai on 14-20/9.
The event is to showcase the beauty of scenic Mu Cang Chai terraced fields as well as promoting potential, strengths and unique cultural identity of ethnic Mongolian in Yen Bai with domestic and foreign tourists.
During the week there will be more cultural activities such as celebration of the Mongolian new rice at La Pan Tan Commune, photo exhibition on terraces; highland fair – food and demonstration activities folklore (dance praise, love singing) …
Mu Cang Chai terraced fields cover an area of 2.300ha, centered in the Social La Pan Tan, Che Cu Nha and De Xu bulge. The most ideal time to visit the rice terraces is in May (rice season), May 6-7 (young rice season) and May 9-10 (grain season).
In 2007, 500 ha of terraced fields in La Pan Tan 3 communes, Che Cu Nha and De Xu bulge (Mu Cang Chai) by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism ranks as the heritage and national level.
